New Bear Grylls Gerber Items – Headlamp and Canteen with Cup
Here we are again with some more innovative Gerber items inspired by Bear Grylls. For some reason these 2 new items are not on the Gerbergear.com website but they are on amazon.com. Here is what I can tell you about these new Bear Grylls Gerber items.
Bear Grylls Torch by Gerber:
This is a light weight and very basic light that can help get you out of a pinch when you are lost and dark. The elastic band is equipped to hold an extra battery and the torch comes with three settings. Bright, Low and off. I have had many headlamps but none of them this small and with an extra place to pack a battery. This is a great minimalist style headlamp/torch that is great in any survival, hiking, skiing pack or just tossed into the truck, car or drawer. At this price also you cant really beat this torch by Bear Grylls and Gerber!

For a while now people have been looking for the classic canteen and metal cup that Bear Grylls uses. Well he has ditched the classic canteen and cup and come out with his own. This Bear Grylls Canteen has some pretty cool features. The aluminum cup is food grade, comes with a carry pouch, the canteen is textured for use in cold/wet weather, the top is leak-proof and the plastic the canteen is made out of has no harmful chemicals. Time to ditch the water bottle and get something a little more substantial.

We have been informed that Gerber Knives has announced two new Bear Grylls inspired items. First, we have the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Tool Pack. This thing is pretty bad ass haha. It has everything you would need in a multi-tool, but includes a small flashlight and a fire striker that pairs nicely with a fire steel found in the 12 component multi-tool. This is a great tool for fishermen or anyone that works in the woods. The flashlight runs for 4 hours off of just one single AAA battery. This is a great new item! This item is estimated to cost around $80 USD.
Second, we have a nice lil ditty I like to call the Bear Grylls Gerber Pocket Tool. Haha I like to call it that because thats what Gerber calls it. We have a bottle opener, fillips and flat head screwdrivers and a nice locking blade. All the components lock on this badboy so you are gonna always be safe. This is a very light and small tool that you will forget you even have on you until you need it. Great gift too because its less then $10. Get this for yourself or anyone around you that likes to get outside.

The Discovery channel is up to it’s old trick again. Season 7 of Man Vs Wild which airs on July 11th starts with Bear Grylls helping Mr. Jake Gyllenhaal make it through the tough Icelandic landscape. This is the third special Man Vs. Wild where Bear Grylls was not alone. If you remember he did do a Man Vs. Wild with Will Ferrell in an episode called Men Vs. Wild. This was a great episode where Will had to scale a 100 foot ice face and eat deer eyeball. Will was pretty funny at one point he misplaced his penis. haha. If you haven’t seen this episode you can see the highlights on the Discovery website. Then there was a Fan Vs. Wild were Bear Grylls pretty much had to babysit 2 guys that acted like little boys. I can’t even remember their names I think one was Joe Rusto or something. That episode was pretty wack. One of the “fans” was scared of water the the other was scared of heights. As expected Bear had to help them work past their fears. Bear was good but I could pass on the fans. And now the newest person to keep Bear company as he survives in the wild is going to be Jake Gyllenhaal. I think this could be good. I don’t know much about Jake. Wasn’t he in spiderman? Anyway keep an eye on the calendar and be sure to start watching new Man Vs. Wild episodes on July 11th season 7 or second half of season 6.
Man Vs. Wild decides to take Bear Grylls deep into an archipelago of islands off the coast of Borneo where he filmed last. Rafting from island to island Bear is able to find and trap a wild bore. He also catches a stingray and uses rain-traps to capture precious rain water. This is a great episode packed with cool gear. We will need some help identifying some of this gear! In this episode he is wearing the Bear Grylls Men’s Mountain Jacket, Petzl K53 CORDEX PLUS Midweight Gloves, his Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Knife and a pair of Craghoppers trousers. It looks cold as Bear Grylls works his way though the deadly woods of Norway. In this episode he will be using technology to help monitor the harsh conditions and the way Bears body reacts to them. This is another action packed episode of Man Vs. Wild held in one of the wettest places on the planet. I was not able to find that many images of this upcoming episode but what images we did get lead us to think he is wearing his Bear Mountain Jacket II and Terra Plana Boots. Of course, after the Man Vs. Wild Norway episode we will help you all identity the gear that was being worn by him in this episode. I think we can also be pretty sure he will be using the Ultimate Survival Gerber Bear Grylls knife in Norway. From the Bear Grylls twitter it looks like Bear is filming again for Man vs. Wild even though he JUST finished a series we still havent seen yet! so that means there are 2 more seasons garenteed still coming!! WAAAHOO! how great is that?! Ok but also another new bit of cool info is that Gerber is starting to talk about the relece of the new range of Bear Grylls Gerber knives, Gerber Multi-Tools and Gear. Obviously all four of those knives are super awesome. I own a few Gerber knives and I must say I love them I own the Big Rock Camp Knife with Serrated Edge, which I got for xmas and I love it. It’s a nice little application that features Bear Grylls in what seems to be his gear shed. He explains the importance of survival essentials and describes in video how to survive in a tough environment. What we really liked about this app was that it can turn your phone into a green,red or white signal light, has a compass and uses the LED light on the front of the phone as a very bright flashlight or signal light. The app will set you back a huge $7 but if you are a Bear Grylls fan this is really not much to pay.
